DebateNet is the online system for organizing debates and debate organizations. Originally intended to simply act as a redesign of the previous system created for the Junior State of America by DebateWare developer Ryan Speers, DebateNet was completed as a holistic approach to online debate organization with lead developer and Avecora CEO Mark Bao.
Simply usable.
DebateNet allows users to find out about debate events and sign up for debates as main speakers, among other features. The system is meant to be simple to use for both the debate organization member as well as the administration and management of the organization. For members, it allows easy access to information; one will only need to sign up for the website, log in, and request debates; then, they can view their debates and keep track of current events with the integrated feed reader called NewsWire.
Making administration a breeze.
The administrators of the debate organization is able to appoint people from requests to debates, all on one page, efficiently with AJAX functionality; further, information can be exported into comma-separated values format. Information can be edited instantly; new schools or chapters of debate can be added, permissions appointed to those who are given certain permissions.
Assisting in real life.
At the event itself, DebateNet has a system for simple check-in and available speaker visualization. DebateNet is able to track check-in data for events and report it in an administration page, where check-in data and visualizations can be viewed.
